BILLING (TOS '20. TERMS OF SALE')
Freedcamp Paid Plans
Freedcamp now offers 4 unique pricing packages: Free, Minimalist, Business, and Enterprise. Details on each specific account can be found here at www.freedcamp.com/pricing. All users are subject to Freedcamp’s Terms and Conditions as described below – this includes all free and paid users.
Trials
Freedcamp provides a free 14 days trial for all paid plans.
Q: How to cancel your trial?
You can cancel your trial or convert it to a subscription at any time on My Account -> Subscriptions page.
Q: What will happen at the end of the trial?
Please note that all subscriptions and upgrades are always explicit.
For example, if you are on the Free plan and started the Business plan trial - Freedcamp will not upgrade you automatically to the Business plan at the end of the trial unless you will explicitly complete the upgrade process. You will be switched to your original Free plan at the end of the trial.
For example, if you are on the Pro plan and started the Business plan trial - Freedcamp will not upgrade you automatically to the Business plan at the end of the trial unless you will explicitly complete the upgrade process.
Q: Will the data I entered during my trial disappear if I won't upgrade?
Functionality and data availability during trials. When you trial a new plan you receive access to functionality and be able to enter new data using applications and modules which will be disabled if you will not proceed with the upgrade. This process is described in more detail in the ‘Downgrades’ section as essentially a trial ending is a downgrade.
You can use this link to see features you use in the trail that will disappear. It works if you are on the Free plan and are using paid plan trial or if you are on a paid plan and want to downgrade to the free plan.
Each premium plan can only be tried once. If you need to re-evaluate certain plans again or need more trial time please contact Freedcamp Help Desk help@freedcamp.com.
You can trial any higher plan after you completed another trial. For example, after you finish the Pro plan trial, you can start a Business plan trial. If you tried the Business plan you can not try the Pro plan - if this is required please contact Freedcamp Help Desk help@freedcamp.com.
Free
Freedcamp’s Free plan is provided at zero cost to all Users but is limited in features and additional applications as compared to other paid plans.
Paid Plans
Paid plans are Freedcamp’s premium accounts. Pricing per plan can be found here www.freedcamp.com/pricing. Each level of Freedcamp’s paid plan includes additional applications and support as stated. Please note that Paid Plan Users will only have access to Applications and Modules included in Users’ specific plans which Users can add to as many projects and as many users as required. New features released, which were not included in the original Plan, will be provided free of charge to each paid plan as determined by Freedcamp. Paid Plans users will only be charged for Active Users. All charges will be made in advance of the current billing cycle.
Active Users
Active Users are defined as any users who have signed up or logged into Freedcamp and visited projects in your account at least once during the billing cycle. Performing activities such as opening the Tasks Board or Notifications page will not be considered "Active Users."
In addition, Freedcamp has included a 4-day grace period for new project members. If a User was added by mistake and that is considered an "Active User" - project owners can still remove such User from the account and such User will not be counted as Active User for that billing cycle.
Also, users (we use the term 'collaborators'), who have Read-Only or Guest profiles assigned during the billing cycle will not be considered Active User. Their permissions are explained in detail in the last two columns. Invited users, who never signup, will also not be counted as Active Users.
Billing Structure
Monthly Plan
Example of Monthly Paid Plan Billing:
A User subscribes to Business Plan on 15th Sep. Freedcamp detects how many active users the User has now. For example, 10 users. The User is charged $8.99*10=$89.90.
If you had fewer active users than you paid for
Between 15 Sep and 15th Oct, the User had only 5 active users. Freedcamp still charges you for the next billing cycle for 10 users which is $8.99*10=$89.90.
You can request to reduce your monthly users for any value between your actual active users and currently paying users - for example, 5 between 15 Oct and 15 Nov. In this case on the 15th Nov Freedcamp will charge you for fewer users for 15 Nov - 15 Dec period. This value cannot be lower than the number of active users you had 15 Oct - 15 Nov.
You had more active users than you paid for
Between 15 Sep and 15th Oct, a User had 20 active users. You will be charged for 10 extra active users $8.99*10=$89.90 for the 15 Sep - 15 Oct period.
Freedcamp charges you for the next billing cycle (15 Oct - 15 Nov) for 20 users which is $8.99*20=$179.80.
If you had only 15 active users in 15 Oct - 15 Nov period - you can request to reduce your monthly users for any value between your actual active users and currently paying users - for example, 17 between 15 Oct and 15 Nov. In this case on the 15th Nov Freedcamp will charge you for fewer users for the 15 Nov - 15 Dec period. This value cannot be lower than the number of active users you had last 15 Oct - 15 Nov.
At the end of the month, Freedcamp calculates actual active users and applies debit if you have more users than you prepaid for that month. You also pay for the same or a bigger amount of users based on last month's usage for the following month.
Summary
You paid for 10 users for the 15 Oct - 15 Nov period and actually had 10 users - you will be billed for 10 users for 15 Nov - 15 Dec.
You paid for 10 users for the 15 Oct - 15 Nov period and actually had 8 users - you will be billed for 10 users for 15 Nov - 15 Dec but can request to pay less for the 15 Dec - 15 Jan period at any time between 15 Nov and 15 Dec.
You paid for 10 users for the 15 Oct - 15 Nov period and actually had 15 users - you will be billed for 5 extra users for Oct - Nov, and for 15 users for the 15 Nov - 15 Dec period but can request to pay less for 15 Dec - 15 Jan period at any time between 15 Nov and 15 Dec.
Yearly Plan
Example of Yearly Paid Plan Billing:
A user who subscribes to the Yearly Business Plan on January 15th will be charged initially $7.49*12 = $89.88 for 1 Active User.
A user who subscribes to the Yearly Business Plan on January 15th with 2 Active Users will be charged $7.49*2*12=$179.76.
Any additional users added during the next 12 months will be charged at the yearly/user price as seen on our Pricing page.
Changes in Active Users
Any increase in Active Users in addition to the original Yearly amount will be billed based on (i) the additional user amount per that plan and (ii) the number of remaining months including the month when those users became active. For example, if a customer purchased a 5 Users Yearly Business Plan on Jan 15th, the initial charge will be $7.49*5users*12months=$449.40. If by March 11th, Freedcamp detects that there are now 6 Active Users, a customer will be notified via email of the extra user with the option of either removing that additional user or changing to Read-Only or Guest access. If, on March 15th, the number of Active Users still remains at 6, the customer will now be charged an additional $7.49*1user*11months=$82.39.
Decreases in Active Users will not result in credits or refunds. Total seats purchased at the beginning of the Yearly Subscription is considered the Maximum allowed seat per that agreement without incurring additional charges. This essentially means that the Customer has purchased the right to have up to a specific amount of Active Users within the annual billing period. Adding additional users will result in a price increase and an increase in your maximum allowed seats.
The count of Active users on yearly plans is calculated monthly.
Freedcamp will provide two separate notifications (4 days and 2 days before the automatic proration date) if we detect a Customer has more than the purchased number of Users. Our notification email will contain instructions on how to remove users if a Customer does not wish to pay for more seats.. Failure to do so will result in a seat increase and additional prorated charges as described above.
Customers can request a seat reduction at the yearly renewal date at any time under My Account -> Subscriptions
Freedcamp will send a renewal reminder exactly one month and 7 days before the Customer’s renewal date. Failure to respond or make changes after the Grace Period will result in a nonrefundable charge. At this time, Freedcamp will also identify if the Customer has fewer Active Users than the number of purchased seats along with instructions on how to lower the seat count before being charged.
Renewals
All service plans will automatically renew for additional months/year depending on which plan and recurrence the User has chosen. Users have the right to delete their account or cancel their paid subscription at any time by accessing Account information on the Site.
